Phages Reduce Harmful Bacteria, Increasing The Proportions Of Beneficial Microorganisms

In this research, 43 adults were assigned a random placebo-controlled double-blind study where they were given phages that target the Escherichia Coli (e-coli) bacteria.

At the end of the 28 day trial, there were decreases in the number of E-coli bacteria, while general diversity of the microbiome became healthier, with a greater proportion of beneficial microorganisms in the gut.
